Maria Theobald – State certified food chemist

Maria Theobald is a state certified food chemist and has been with the RDA Team since January 2019. She has a broad experience in the field of analytical determination of food quality as well as in the development of active and intelligent packaging material. She consults in all regulatory and scientific areas of food and food contact material.


Maria Theobald studied food chemistry at the Technical University of Munich from 2007 to 2012. After two research projects in Mexico and Brazil she worked from 2013 to 2018 as scientific associate at the Fraunhofer-Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging in Freising, Germany. In this time, she was responsible for the development of gas analytical methods for the non-destructive determination of volatile quality indicators of food. She was further involved in the area of analytical sensory and the development of active and intelligent packaging material. Maria Theobald is familiar with the application and realization of national and international research projects. In 2018 Maria Theobald did her practical education for state certified food chemists at the “Bavarian State Office for Health and Food Safety”. Since the beginning of 2019, Maria Theobald works within the team of the RDA Scientific Consultants GmbH. She consults in all regulatory and scientific fields of food and food contact material.
